Rooted in tradition and animated by innovation, I provide holistic engineering services for new and existing buildings in West Texas and beyond. Let's make something beautiful together!
Licensed in Texas and Minnesota. Oklahoma license anticipated.
Edmund, Oklahoma
Project engineer for Phase 1 of a one acre infill neighborhood consisting of 20 townhouses and 3 commercial buildings. Developed an unreinforced brick masonry wall system with structural stone lintels and load-bearing brick arches – believed to be the first new commercial construction of this type in the modern code era.
Crow Wing State Park, Brainerd, Minnesota
Development of repair and stabilization efforts to preserve the oldest surviving structure in Minnesota north of St. Anthony Falls (circa 1849). Scope included roof stabilization, supplemental framing, and timber sill replacement, all while navigating complex historic and archeological requirements.
Saint Paul, Minnesota
Condition assessment and structural review of the NRHP-listed Cathedral of Saint Paul. Project included research of historic documents to identify the source of unexpected field conditions, as well as multi-disciplinary collaboration to provide the first comprehensive assessment in 20+ years of the iconic structure.
After graduating from Benedictine College (B.S. Civil Engineering), I spent several years in Minnesota. There I met my wife, started a family, and worked for two excellent structural engineering firms. In the fall of 2025, the Lord called us back home to Throckmorton, Texas and the ranching community I grew up in. The most common services that I provide are summarized below, but if there's a different way that I can help you, please don't hesitate to ask!
In a region with very little construction oversight or enforced building codes, West Texas homeowners and property managers may have real concerns about the structural integrity and durability of their buildings. As a licensed structural engineer (TX, MN, and soon OK), I am skilled at assessing existing conditions and developing practical & cost-effective solutions for any structural deficiency.
I also provide design services for new building projects, where my involvement can simplify the structure, reduce construction costs, and integrate industry best practices. Together, we can craft buildings that are affordable, resilient, and full of life!
I work with clients across the country, including architects and builders that are pushing the envelope on traditional, "low-tech", vernacular methods in the 21st century. Practical yet progressive, we are working to marry timeless tradition with cutting edge technology.
Like most people, I have quite a few irons in the fire. A few of them are catalogued here.
If you're interested in any of these projects, drop me a line!
I occasionally write on various topics. All of my articles can be found at Substack.
